Nowadays, when Europe which has lost its frontiers, one can imagine the importance and frequency of relations, in the past, between the valleys of the Queyras and those on "the other side of the mountain".
Together, lets explore the paths and passes, reminders of the frequent commercial and cultural exchanges with Italy. : passage for the italian seasonal workers coming over to help with the harvest and hay making in the Queyras, for the pedlars and smugglers, and for the artists come from Italy to decorate the churches and paint the traditional sundials on the farm walls. The itinerary will take you from the wooden farms of Molines to the stone built houses and roofs of the village of Chianale in the Varaita valley, and from the pungent scent of larches to the sweet scent of pastures of Ciabot del Pra in Val Pellice.
Accomodation in hostels or refuges.
Standard: practiced walkers, in good physical condition at the start of the hike.
Carrying: 6 to 8 kg backpack with your personal belongings and lunches.

Around the Queyras

Everyone seems to believe they know all and every part of the Queyras, but this route will prove you wrong.
From the wooden huts set in the midst of flowered pastures in the Queyras, to the steep slopes and high peaks of the Italian Piemonte, you will discover the secret paths and the rich history of this remote mountain area.
Accomodation: hostels, refuges and/or hotels.
Standard: Practiced to seasoned walkers, in good physical condition at the start of the hike.
Carrying: 6 à 8 kg backpack with your personal belongings and lunch.
Rates:
550 € hostel accomodation exclusively,
650 € mixed hostel and hotel accomodation.
The prices include full board from Sunday 6PM to Saturday 6PM. the guide and transport of luggage.
They do Not include drinks taken in the hostels, and the Annual mountain Passport insurance ANCEF card (16€)
